Letting Go of What You Can’t Control
Grief often springs from trying to fix what was never ours to fix. When people, outcomes, or timelines refuse to change, surrender becomes holy. Letting go is not giving up — it’s placing everything into the hands of a faithful God.
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
We live in a world where the evidence around us can make life look upside down. Scripture warns us not to lean on our own understanding, but that doesn’t mean we don’t wrestle to make sense of what’s happening. In my own journey, I’ve learned that the only answers that truly matter come from God Himself. And here’s the best part: His Word teaches that we already hold the solution to every problem we face.
Many people simply don’t know how to unlock the promises and blessings of God over their lives. I used to be one of them. I believed that as a child of God, I automatically deserved everything Jesus sacrificed His life for at the cross of Calvary. That was misinformed thinking.
As children of the Most High, we are invited to receive what Christ laid down for us — but receiving is an active process. We have a role to play in laying hold of our spiritual inheritance. It doesn’t happen by osmosis. It requires faith, understanding, and action.
This is where the Courts of Heaven came alive to me. For much of my life, good things happened. But the closer I drew to God and my soul’s mission on earth, the fiercer the battle with the enemy became. Satan wanted me to give up on God — but that will never happen. When everything else failed, it was only Jesus holding me that mattered.
The Courts of Heaven have taught me how to walk in victory within the Kingdom of God. They’ve also shown me a sobering truth: anyone who unjustly sets out to harm or destroy another person will face consequences — extending even to the third and fourth generation of their own family line. God is just, and He defends His children.
Friend, if you’re in a season of grief or spiritual warfare, remember this: letting go doesn’t mean defeat. It’s the gateway to freedom. Place your burdens in God’s hands. Trust Him to fight for you, guide you, and vindicate you. His justice is perfect, and His love never fails.
