WEEK TWO (2025 Advent): Peace — Christ Our Prince
Theme: Peace — Christ Our Prince
Refresher: What Advent Means
Advent comes from the Latin adventus, meaning “arrival” or “coming.”
It is a season of expectation, preparation, and remembrance as believers reflect on the first coming of Jesus Christ — and ready their hearts for His promised return.
Each Sunday of Advent carries a specific theme that reveals a different facet of Christ’s identity and mission.
Week Two reveals Christ our Prince — the One who rules in perfect peace.
The Heart of Week Two: Advent Peace — Christ Our Prince
The second candle of Advent is the Candle of Peace, reminding us that the coming of Christ brought a peace the world could never manufacture and hell could never steal.
Peace is not the absence of problems.
Peace is not positive thinking.
Peace is not mental discipline.
Peace is a Person — Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.
The prophet Isaiah declared it long before shepherds heard angelic song:
“For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given…
And His name will be called…
Prince of Peace.”
— Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)
This peace is not fragile.
This peace does not fluctuate.
This peace is rooted in divine government — the authority of Christ Himself.
Peace Declared Over the Earth
The first announcement of Christ’s birth by Heaven’s hosts carried one central message:
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
— Luke 2:14 (NKJV)
This peace was not sentimental.
It was not seasonal.
It was judicial.
When Christ came, Heaven issued a legal proclamation:
Peace has been granted to those who receive the King.
This is why Jesus could say:
“Peace I leave with you,
My peace I give to you;
not as the world gives do I give to you.”
— John 14:27 (NKJV)
His peace is not borrowed.
It is inherited.
It is secured through the righteousness of Christ and sealed by the Spirit.
Why Week Two Matters
Because believers often chase peace as though it’s an emotion — when it is actually an inheritance.
Peace is:
a covenant gift
a legal covering
a supernatural guard over mind and heart
the evidence that Jesus reigns
The Prince of Peace does not offer temporary relief.
He offers established authority over every storm.
When His peace rules your heart, the enemy loses access to your mind.
When His peace anchors your soul, fear has no legal standing.
When His peace guards your spirit, anxiety cannot dominate.
Peace for Your 2025 Journey
As you cross into the final weeks of the year, pause and ask:
Where have I lost my peace?
What battles am I fighting in my own strength?
What situation needs the rule of the Prince of Peace?
What fear must surrender to Christ’s authority?
Peace is not found in perfect circumstances.
It is found in perfect surrender.
Peace is the atmosphere of a heart in alignment with Heaven’s King.
Advent Week Two invites you to step under the government of Christ.
Where He rules — peace prevails.
Advent Meditation for Week Two
Light the second Advent candle and set your heart before the Lord.
Declare:
Jesus, You are my Prince of Peace.
Not the peace the world gives, but the peace that comes from Heaven’s throne.
Let Your rule govern my heart, my thoughts, and my home.
Prince of Peace, reign over every storm in my life.
Let this peace fill every room, every decision, and every moment of your week.
Prayer
Father, thank You for sending Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Let His peace reign in me, over me, and through me.
Silence every fear, calm every storm, and guard my heart in Christ Jesus.
May Your perfect peace govern my thoughts and steady my steps.
Let my life become a testimony that peace is found in Christ alone.
Father, be glorified in my life and in all the earth.
For all the promises of God in Christ are Yes, and in Him Amen.
Yes and Amen.
